In 1980, Mike Rappl was tasked with starting the softball program at Canisius College (now Canisius University) -- a program he steered for the next 35 years. Mike also served as both assistant and head women's basketball coach, athletic facilities coordinator, and compliance officer at Canisius. He is a member of the St. Mary's High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Western New York Softball Hall of Fame, the Canisus Sports Hall of Fame, and the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame.
